Introduction To Competition (CI 1) – Kelowna – DATE CHANGED

Biathlon BC is offering the Introduction to Competition (CI1, Biathlon) coaching course in Kelowna, BC, on October 19-21, 2012 (note date change). The NCCP CI1 and CI2 are the new coaching courses replacing the old NCCP Level 1 and Level 2 certifications and are intended for individuals coaching biathletes 12 years and older who are competing at the level of Provincial Cups and Western National Championships.

Schedule and Location

  • Friday, October 19, 2012 6:30pm to 9:00pm – Telemark Ski Club
  • Saturday, October 20, 2012 8:00am to 5:00pm – Telemark Ski Club
  • Sunday, October 21, 2012 8:00am to 4:00pm – Telemark Ski Club

Prerequisite: experience with biathlon. Some coaching experience in biathlon is recommended. Also recommended but not required is completion of Multisport Part A and/or Part B workshops.

Fees and Registration

The fee for the CI1 course is $150/participant. All participants must be members of Biathlon Canada and BC for the 2012/13 season.

Course registration MUST be purchased on-line at www.biathlonbc.org. The $150 course fee does not include accommodations and meals which are the responsibility of each participant. In order to become fully certified, you must eventually be evaluated by an approved Course Evaluator. The cost of this service varies depending on the number of participants, location, etc. More information on the evaluation will be provided at the course.

The course and evaluation fees are subsidized by Biathlon BC.

All registrations and course fees are on-line at www.biathlonbc.org and should be completed by October 8, 2012.
